The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show.

The Mighty Sparrow is the unrivaled Calypso King of the World, with a career that spans over 40 years and counting. This artist par excellence has earned his rightful place as "King of the Calypso World" by defeating every other competitor/pretender to his throne. He has entertained audiences across the globe, including, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, to name but a few.
The Mighty Sparrow has proved himself as the Quintessential Calypsonian, par excellence, with over seventy (70) albums to his credit. He is richly endowed with many gifts. He possesses an amazing ability not only to put into works and tempo the exploits of society, but to crown it all with showmanship and appeal. His great contribution to the artform and our lives has unraveled the mysteries of Caribbean life, leaving the professionally trained sociologist and economist befuddled.
A combination of talent, hard work and opportunity enabled Sparrow's ascendance to Calypso King of the World. He brought honor, glory and dignity to an indigenous art form that was once scorned upon by the elite of Caribbean society. He is one extraordinary entertainer who utilizes the medium he masters not just to entertain but also to edify, enlighten, and educate. Without doubt, as The Mighty Sparrow, The King of Kings, is the real Supreme Serenader.

They're here, they're real and they're alive at the CONEY ISLAND SIDESHOW...The last place in the USA where you can experience the thrill of a traditional ten-in-one circus sideshow.
Established by Coney Island, USA in 1985, where else would you find the world's first professional non-profit theatre dedicated to keeping alive the American sideshow? Billed as the only "ten-in-one" sideshow still in existence in North America (the term refers the number of acts that can be seen for a single price). The ten-in-one circus sideshow is another Coney Island gift to culture along with other Brooklyn beach inventions like the hot dog and the roller coaster.

The Grascals
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$12 adv, $15 at door
The Grascals are among the most beloved and acclaimed bands on today's bluegrass scene, having won the International Bluegrass Music Association's Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2005 and earning its Entertainer of the Year honor in both 2006 and 2007. They take another stride forward with The Famous Lefty Flynn's, their fourth album, available March 30, 2010 on Rounder Records. Vocally, the trio of Terry Eldredge, Jamie Johnson, and Terry Smith are tighter than ever, cutting loose on driving solo vocals and soaring trios with equal fire and passion. As an instrumental unit, The Grascals have never sounded sharper, with mandolin ace Danny Roberts, fiddler Jeremy Abshire, and new banjo player Kristin Scott Benson leading the charge. As a result, The Famous Lefty Flynn's features cutting-edge modern bluegrass delivered with a deep knowledge of and admiration for the work of the music's founding fathers. Timely yet timeless, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now, yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It's a unique sound that has earned two of their previous releases, The Grascals (2005) and Long List of Heartaches (2006) Grammy® nominations for Best Bluegrass Album.

Milkman
Max Tannone (Jaydiohead/Mos Dub)
Doors at 8:00pm, Show at 9:00pm
$15 adv, $20 at door
Milkman is the stage alias of Hip-Hop/Dance/Rock music producer Gregg Luskin from San Diego, CA. As a freshman at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Milkman was introduced to various glitch-pop remix artists. After being exposed to this new and upcoming sample-based genre, Milkman spent the remainder of the year learning and improving his own mashup technique. It took Milkman 13 months to complete his debut album Lactose and THC (released January 22, 2008 under self owned Production Company Milkman Entertainment) and was available to download for free online. Over the course of the next year, the debut album Lactose and THC was downloaded over 26,000 from his website alone and was voted the "#2 Mashup Album of All Time" by DJ Forum. Soon after, Milkman took his music to a more professional level by offering live DJ service- extending the sound of his debut album for a more dance-oriented environment.
In the years following, Milkman expanded his fan base by performing locally in the shore-side college community Isla Vista. As word spread through college campuses around the country and over seas, Milkman's popularity began to grow and was soon headlining performances from coast to coast. Milkman is now regarded as a premiere mashup DJ around the world and regularly performs with A-List artists such as Kid Cudi, Lil' Jon and Three 6 Mafia. Milkman was awarded both "Hottest mashup DJ of 2008" as well as "DJ to watch out for in 2009" by DJ Forum. Prior to digital music production and live DJ performance, Gregg Luskin was the lead guitarist of San Diego based rock quartet A Dead Giveaway under the indie-rock label Pacific Records.

APAP Showcase: Edwin McCain
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$25 adv, $29 at door
Blending equal parts folk, soul and rock, platinum-selling singer/songwriter Edwin McCain has signed with Vanguard Records and will release a new studio album next spring. Currently in the new OMG Studios, which he co-owns, in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, McCain is working with producer Noel Golden (Messenger, Scream and Whisper) and band members Craig Shields (keys, sax); Larry Chaney (lead guitar); Pete Riley (guitar, vocals); Dave Harrison (drums); and Lee Hendricks (bass).
Since his 1993 debut, McCain has garnered the attention of millions with the top 10 smash "I'll Be," and the Diane Warren-penned top 40 hit "I Could Not Ask For More," and as a tireless troubadour whose rapturous live performances regularly sell-out. In May 2005, McCain performed "I'll Be" on The Dr. Phil Show, which was voted the "Best Wedding Song" by over one million viewers.
The seeds for McCain's blend of southern soul and acoustic storytelling were planted in Greenville, South Carolina, where he was born and raised, and still resides. In 1993, he formed the Edwin McCain Band and released Solitude. A quartet of albums on Lava/Atlantic Records followed, starting with Honor Among Thieves (1995), the breakthrough album Misguided Roses (1997), which featured "I'll Be," and Messenger (1999), which included "I Could Not Ask for More," also featured in the film Message in a Bottle, that drove Messenger to RIAA Gold Certification. In 2001, Edwin's last recording for Lava/Atlantic, Far From Over, was released. In 2003, McCain teamed with ATC Records to release Austin Sessions, and in the summer of 2004, DRT Entertainment released Scream and Whisper.

Eye for Talent APAP Showcase: Huun Huur Tu
Los Texmaniacs, Red Baraat @ Hiro Ballroom
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$15 adv, $17 at door
In 1992 HUUN-HUUR-TU was founded by Sasha Bapa, his brother, Sayan, and two other musicians, Kaigal-ool Khovalyg and Albert Kuvezin. Ever since they have tried to focus on the performance of "old and forgotten songs", as Sasha put it. Sasha, Sayan, and Kaigal-ool were refugees of one of the large state-managed song and dance ensembles that became fixed institutions of the public cultural life during the Soviet era. For decades these ensembles with their glitzy performances of folk music or pseudo folk music offered the only possibility for young musicians to play indigenous music for a living. But throughout the privatization of the music business in the former Soviet Union, many musicians decided to abandon these state ensembles and formed their own groups. The musical results have decidedly been mixed.

Lil B
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 9:00pm
$13 adv, $15 at door
Equally inspired by Prince and 2Pac, Lil B is an eccentric, ambitious rapper who came up with the Bay Area's the Pack, a group that had a hit with the sneaker-loving track "Vans." After the group released its 2007 album, Based Boys, Lil B began to explore other opportunities by first partnering with fellow Pack member Young L for SS Mixtape, Vol. 1. New solo songs would regularly get posted to his /MySpace site and then, in late 2008, he began to toy with the excessiveness of the Internet, storming the Web in a full-on blitzkrieg. As the prolific and unfiltered Lil Wayne was to the mixtape game, so was Lil B to the Net, creating no less than 122 /MySpace pages, each linked to create one giant body of work. Originally, aliases such as the BasedLord and BasedGod appeared alongside streaming audio of Lil B freestyling over familiar beats. As the number of pages grew, the music and the rapper's delivery became more experimental. The sounds of detached spoken word over techno beats seemed out of step with the soul-baring posts Lil B was putting on his blog around the same time, some reading like motivational essays while others were emotional pleas for racial unity. In early 2009 some of the stranger tracks began to catch on, with the gabba techno-sounding "Shoot the Bitch Bra" becoming a fan favorite, as did the dubstep-influenced "My Baby." In March the polished "We Can Go Down" brought things back to reality, with the video being serviced to more traditional outlets like the BET cable network. A month later, Lil B launched his artist networking site /Bang Ka Dang with a new song and video on the home page. His odd choice was the somber and unsure "Am I Even Really a Rapper Anymore?" ~David Jeffries, Rovi

For nearly sixty years, the Jolly Boys have been integral to the fabric of Port Antonio's musical landscape and cultural heritage. The well-seasoned and ever energetic Jolly Boys thrash out this new mento sound with as much heart and flex as any contemporary performer. Cracker
Camper Van Beethoven
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 8:30pm
$22 adv, $25 at door
Cracker, the group that veritably introduced brash irreverence and irony into alt-rock, are back and in top form on their 429 Records debut, Sunrise In The Land Of Milk And Honey.
This rich new trove of sharp-witted songs showcases a bristling, late 70's - early 80's power pop punk aesthetic which hits as hard as it did at the band's formation 17 years ago. Eight albums (one platinum and three gold) and a barrel full of anthemic hit songs later, Cracker endures, using their ability to weave decades of influences into an album that is seamlessly riveting.

Susan McKeown
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:30pm
$18 adv, $22 at door
Once heard, you would never take Grammy-award-winning vocalist Susan McKeown for anyone else. Hailed by Q Magazine as the surprise hit of Glastonbury 2000, the strong, richly-colored contralto and the enlivening intelligence of her songs mark her as a distinctive talent. Susan grew up in Dublin, Ireland, which she left in 1990 for Manhattan. Settling in the East Village she first gained attention as a singer-songwriter through her performances at Café Sin-é (Susan is featured in the film about the legendary informal Irish cultural center of the early 90s). Her debut album "Bones" in 1995 drew influences from sources as far flung as the ancient Irish legend of The Táin, the words of Chief Seattle, poets such as Emily Dickinson, Yeats & Coleridge, and the complexities of relationships. Her lyrics are emotion-centered and as inventive as her arrangements, from the hurdy-gurdy solo on the rock song "I Know, I Know" (Bones, 1996 Prime/SNG) to the pairing of banjo and erhu on "The Lowlands of Holland" (Lowlands, 2000 Green Linnet). Her self-produced album 'Sweet Liberty' (2004 World Village) drew accolades and a BBC Folk Music Award nomination for her setting of an English gypsy song with the group Mariachi Real de Mexico. Susan has built an impressive career through her many releases, extensive touring, and performances on programs such as 'A Prairie Home Companion', 'All Things Considered', 'Mountain Stage' and 'Sessions at West 54th' as the guest of Natalie Merchant. Susan's voice and music have been featured in numerous documentary films, among them - Robert Capa - In Love and War (PBS American Masters), Absolutely Irish (PBS), At Home With The Clearys (BBC/RTE), Thomas Moore's Soul of Christmas (PBS) and The Irish Empire (BBC/RTE/ABC).

Si*Se
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$15 adv, $17 at door
Formed in the beginning of 2000 by singer/DJ Carol C. and programmer U.F. Low, Si*Sé bring together a wonderful mix of electronica, soul and latin rhythms.
After being connected through a mutual friend, Carol C. and U.F. Low spent a few months getting acquainted and sharing musical ideas over the phone. Finally they met once before going into a studio and recording a 5 track demo in one day. This very demo fell into the hands of LuakaBop amongst other record labels and everyone wanted more. It was time to put a live act together and both Carol and Cliff agreed they wanted to get musicians involved. Cliff turned to college friend Ryan Farley (drums) and Carol got friends Jeannie Oliver (viola), Neil Ochoa (percussion) and Morgan Phillips (bass) involved. Each member brings his/her influence into the music but they have one thing in common and that's New York City. Listening to their music is like walking through the streets of New York, urban and full of culture.

Tina Dico
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 7:00pm
$10 adv, $15 at door
Singer-Songwriter Tina Dickow hails from Aarhus. Having decided to plot the 'indie route' in her native Denmark, Tina released her first album 'Fuel' in 2001 to critical acclaim. Not happy to rest on her laurels, Tina's wanderlust took her to London where she embarked on two years of musical isolation and discovery. Along the way, she was invited to feature on Zero 7's second album 'When It Falls'. Featuring on two tracks, Tina went on to tour the world with the band. In the midst of this, Tina found time to write, record and release a second album ('Notes') and an EP that was released solely in the UK and North America ('Far'). This activity culminated in signing a major record deal with Sony in the UK. Tina went on to record what would be her most successful album to date ('In The Red'). The album was produced by Chris Potter (best known for his work with The Verve). With the Sony/BMG restructuring, Tina became a pawn in the merger and the newly formed Sony BMG gave Tina back the masters for her to release independently. Since then, Tina has never looked back. Picking up several music awards along the way, Tina continued to tour extensively, signed a licensing deal with Universal in Germany and gathered further critical acclaim from all quarters. Tina is now about to release her 4th studio album ('Count To Ten') and already the critics and media are sighting this recording as her most important and personal release to date.
