Frances Reid Dies at 95

According to reports, actress Frances Reid died on February 3, 2010 at the age of 95.

Reid was most well known for her portrayal of Alice Horton on the daytime soap opera "Days of Our Lives," a role she played for 42 years.

She began working on the soap opera in 1965 and in 2004 received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy Awards. Her final appearance on "Days of Our Lives" was in 2007.

Apart from "Days of Our Lives" Reid guest starred on television shows like "Perry Mason, Dr. Kildare," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents."

Not only was Reid a television actress, but she took the stage as well. She made her Broadway debut in THE DREAM OF SGANARELLE and also appeared in TWELFTH NIGHT as Viola, CYANO DE BERGERAC as Roxane, HAMLET as Ophelia, and THE RIVALS. She shared a stage with actors like Jose Ferrer (CYRANO DE BERGERAC), Maurice Evans (HAMLET) and Mary Boland (THE RIVALS).

Reid was married to Phillip Bourneuf for 43 years until he died in 1979. She has no children.
