Here's a look at the February lineup at the Metropolitan Room:

2/1 - 7:30 Bipolar With Jed Feuer on trumpet + flügelhorn, Craig Swanson at the piano, Stephanie Long on soprano + alto saxophones, flute + piccolo, David Ostrem on double bass, and Robert C. Kelly on drums, Bipolar is the newest, most unusual quintet on the jazz scene today.Bipolar draws from the 18th and 19th, not just the 20th and 21st centuries, for many of its tunes creating unexpected and exciting results. Pieces such as Faure's Pavane, Bach's B minor Prelude, Debussy's Passepied, Ravel's Pavane For a Dead Princess, Beethoven's Op. 109 Sonata; as well as classic jazz tunes like Line For Lyons, Tune Up, A Blizzard of Lies, Pent Up House, Bluesette, Along Came Betty, are staples of its repertory. Many innovative current songs are also featured, including "Mother Nature's Son, Just The Two of Us, And I Love Her, Craig Swanson's Closed (Due to Fire), and several Feuer originals. Combinations that have left audiences delighted and looking for more. 20.00

2/2 – 5:00 Cathy Taylor A native of Texas, Cathy grew up in the land of big hair, beauty pageants, firearms and cheerleading. After moving  to New York, Cathy created and performed three original solo shows: A Serious Thinking Problem,  Reality Fatality and Under My Own Power and was an original cast member of the two-time MAC award winning show, Bitch!Bitch!Bitch! Her stand-up comedy experience includes appearances at Carolines, NY Comedy Club and Stand-Up New York. She has also opened for Patty Austin at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She has an extensive background in musical theatre playing such roles as "Rosemary" in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and "Adelaide" in Guys & Dolls and toured for two years as a performer with the USO. After a lengthy absence from the stage, she's back and she's got a lot to say. Life has been full and moved quickly and not quite exactly the way she expected.  She'll fill you in. $20.00

7:30 Kelly Kinsella What lurks under New York City's glamourous Broadway? Horny stagehands, starving child actors and of course, Liza stumbling into her next Bob Mackie gown. Kelly Kinsella, working as a Broadway dresser on the hit musical Suddenly Sudan, attempts to navigate this dangerous labyrinth while having some of her own time in the spotlight. $15.00

10:00 Tamela D'Amico Jazz artist Tamela D'Amico celebrates her New York City debut of her self-titled debut jazz CD release -The Tamela D'Amico Album -  executive produced by Actor/Producer Peter Krause (ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money), produced by Grammy winner Jimmy Hoyson and arranged by Grammy nominee Chris Walden. Currently, Tamela can be seen and heard singing on the soundtrack in her own film Volare as well as La Magique Noire (which will premiere at the Palm Springs Film Festival) and the Independent feature West of Brooklyn starring Joe Mantegna (release 2008). She just wrapped production of a starring role in the film On A Dark and Stormy Night (release Halloween 2008). Tamela was chosen by Steven Spielberg as one of the top young filmmakers today. $25.00

7:00 Christine Pedi "Now I Have Everything : The Lyrics Of Sheldon Harnick  Star of "Forbidden Broadway" returns to the metropolitan Room with a brand new show! $20.00

9:30 Linda Kosut Linda Kosut, a San Francisco-based vocalist and nightclub entertainer, has been known to hold her audiences spellbound with her passionate and compelling vocal interpretations. The quality of her voice with its distinctive warm, dark sound, that rare talent to tell a story through a song's poetic images and her smart wit combine to leave audiences both entertained and moved. Linda makes any tune distinctly her own. Over the past year, Kosut has been performing a tribute to jazz legend Oscar Brown Jr. Her "Long as You're Living" nightclub show, which toured in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles, has received national recognition. The CD of the same name, released this June 2007, is also receiving exciting reviews. $20.00

 9:30  Annie Ross Jazz Legend Annie Ross moves to 9:30!! Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler.25.00

2/6 – 7:30 Cheryl Freeman "I'm Every Woman" Star of "The Who's Tommy" and "Civil War" "Walmartopia", Cheryl Freeman returns to the  Metropolitan Room after her sold out debut with this special evening of music featuring an eclectic mix of pop, R&B and standards from the 1940's to the present. $25.00

2/7 – 7:30 Martin Vidnovic "What Matters To Me"  The Metropolitan Room welcomes back Broadway's Vidnovic after a sold out run in the Fall! Martin's Broadway credits include a Tony nomination as Tommy in Brigadoon, an L.A. Drama Critics Award for Jud in Oklahoma! during it's pre-Broadway tour, a Drama Desk Award as Nick in Maltby and Shire's Baby, a Backstage Bistro award for A Grand Night for Singing for its run at the Rainbow And Stars cabaret, Antinuous in Home Sweet Homer, and Lun Tha in The King and I, both starring Yul Brynner, Sky Masterson in Jerry Zak's award winning revival of Guys and Dolls, Saul in Disney's King David, and Jupiter/Amphitrion in Olympus On my Mind. Martin can be heard as the voice of The King In the animated feature film of The King and I, now in CD and video release. $25.00

2/12 – 7:00 Valerie Lemon "A Song In My Heart" November 10th 2007 marked Jane Froman's Centennial Year.This February 12th 2008, Valerie has  made this performance a special presentation with some wonderful added features. Peter Leavey from Cabaret Scenes says: Valerie Lemon has created a veritable time machine celebrating the life and music of Jane Froman. With her sophisticated look,elegant garb,command of the stage and nostalgic's songs,she transports her audience to the heyday of the New York's forties and fifties nightclub scene.Valerie's show is a touching overview of Froman's life,a reminder of her importance to the popular music for a score of years,and a perfect showcase for Valerie's honey-sweet voice. 7:00 Beyond the Sea - The Legend of Bobby Darin - Steve Ritrovato with the City Rhythm Orchestra Bobby Darin was a true American classic.  His life and times were controversial and ultimately tragic, but he left a distinct mark on the music industry.  Steve Ritrovato and the City Rhythm Orchestra present a thrilling salute to this great entertainer.  The audience is taken through the entire realm of Bobby's repertoire, from his teen-idol tunes ("Dreamlover", "Splish Splash"), to his swing hits ("Artificial Flowers", "Mack the Knife"), to his reflective folk music ("If I Were a Carpenter", "Simple Song of Freedom").  The 8-piece band delivers authentic reproductions of the original arrangements, while Ritrovato brings his own unique vocal style to Darin's songbook and an emotional toast to an artist he greatly admires. $20.00

9:30 Queen of the Blues - The Magic of Dinah Washington - Vicki Woodlyn with the City Rhythm Orchestra Dinah Washington was a singer of great innovation.  She had a significant impact on contemporary vocalists despite her turbulent lifstyle and untimely death.  Vicki Woodlyn and the City Rhythm Orchestra delve deep into Dinah's music with this heartfelt retrospective.  Washington became a leading R&B singer in the early 1950's, earning the title "Queen of the Blues" with songs like "Never Let Me Go" and "Mixed Emotions".  Her Grammy Award in 1959 for "What a Difference a Day Makes" turned her into a pop star, and hits like "Unforgettable" and "Baby You've Got What It Takes" followed.  Vicki brings Washington's powerful voice and distinct characteristics to life, while her interaction with the 8-piece ensemble creates the feel of one of Dinah's famous late night jam sessions. $20.00

9:30 – "Big Tent, The Tammy Faye Musical" Conceived and written by Jeffery Self, Big Tent features music and lyrics by Ben Cohn and Sean McDaniel.  "A cultural icon for more than thirty years, Tammy Faye Bakker's phenomenal rise from farm girl to evangelist superstar has finally been put onstage with a terrific pop-country score.  Her unique style has made her beloved by mainstream Christians, as well as by gays and other outsiders whom she welcomed under her 'big tent.' In this ninety-minute, six character musical, we follow Tammy as she fights to maintain her dignity amidst sex and business scandals. Her perseverance in the face of private tragedy and public ridicule has made her a testament to the endurance of the human spirit," as described in press materials. $15.00

10:00 Micaela Leon Written and performed by Leon "Tigers, Muses & Jasmine", intersperses songs by Friedrich Hollaender, Mischa Spoliansky, Hanns Eisler and Kurt Weill with the words, ideas and signature gestures of a remarkable rogues gallery of eight female icons. The show not only celebrates the avant-garde derring-do of these free spirits, it dramatizes the brewing Nazi storm on the horizon as it grows increasingly menacing. Among the eight women portrayed, who traded in the scandal, rebellion and sense of experimentation that swelled in Berlin between the two world wars -- are Marlene Dietrich, Anita Berber & Valeska Gert. Peter Leavy of Cabaret Scenes applauded Leon for her "great style and a truly compelling performance." $20.00

9:30 Nicole Dillenberg Nicole Dillenberg's new show, "The Popular Songs of World War One" celebrates some of our most treasured popular songs, and honors the  thread that runs from Dillenberg's great grandparents down to her. Though only one American veteran of WW1 survives today, many of the songs from the era remain famous. From early Irving Berlin, to classics like "Pack Up Your Troubles In Your Old Kit Bag", and "It's A Long Way To Tipperary", Dillenberg shares with us how modern and universal these songs truly are—and how, musically, they bridge the gap between hymn and folk song, vaudeville, and the pop songs of today $15.00

Stephen Holden of the NY Times writes "Sheera Ben-David has a strong expressive voice and stands out as a fully developed dramatic singer who delivers the goods." With a varied repertoire that ranges from Brel to Bucchino, Sheera is a hard act to follow.
