The recent French premiere Opera de Toulon production of Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's FOLLIES as well as the spectacularly elaborate, visually and aurally resplendant English-language Theatre du Chatelet production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE will both be arriving on DVD according to a new announcement.

FOLLIES was recently presented by the noted French opera company in March of this year (in English), under the direction of Olivier Benezech and starring West End notables Graham Bickley, Liz Robertson, Jerome Pradon and Charlotte Page.

The Theatre du Chatelet production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE came next in May, directed by Lee Blakeley and starring notable West End star Julian Ovenden in the lead role.

Of note, SUNDAY was presented for the first time with extensively expanded orchestrations by original orchestrator Michael Starobin.

As BroadwayWorld exclusively previously reported, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE was also broadcast in full on French TV this summer. For more information, see the original article here.

Also, view my extensive InDepth InterView with star Julian Ovenden all about his preparation for the role of Georges/George and the uniquely compelling production itself, available here.

Additionally, the first French book on Sondheim will be published next year, as well, with a tome penned by Renard Machart.
