Door Shakespeare to Offer Pre-Show Picnics With Summer Productions
The outdoor theater will stage LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST and THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST at Björklunden.
Door Shakespeare has announced pre-show picnic offerings for its summer season, to be held in conjunction with outdoor performances in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin.
The picnics will take place prior to performances of William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost and Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, with dining beginning at 6:30 p.m. ahead of the 7:30 p.m. curtain. The meals will be served in the garden adjacent to the stage on the Björklunden grounds.
Prepared by Thyme Market and Catering, the menu will include options such as cherry barbecue chicken, smoked beef brisket, grilled chicken skewers, grilled Atlantic salmon, and homestyle meatloaf. Each entrée will be paired with a seasonal vegetable and a choice of sides, with dessert, coffee, or tea served at intermission.
Dietary accommodations will be available with advance notice. Meals will be individually packaged, with beverages including wine and soft drinks offered.
“I enjoy getting to know fellow theater lovers and connecting with guests,” said Producing Artistic Director Amy Ensign, noting that the picnics have become a recurring part of the company’s summer offerings.
