Company of Fools returns with another visceral and darkly comedic production to cap its 2018 season. For the first time, Company of Fools will be presenting a production as a member of the Access Theater's Association Series, at the Access's home on Broadway in lower Manhattan.

Ever since Alexis moved in with her boyfriend, her pet parrot has developed a problem. What's worse, the girl she's been illicitly flirting with just showed up uninvited to their dinner party. And she might have bedbugs. And a secret past. PLUCKER is an old- school farce about a new generation dealing with the anxieties of commitment and co- habitation.

PLUCKER combines a close examination of millennial angst and the woes of sex and relationships with elements of farce and bedroom comedy. The result of that marriage? A pointed, powerful, and visceral dark comedy that will make you laugh and question your life choices in equal measure.

Company of Fools founding Artistic Director Cameron Clarke calls this production "at once riveting, hilarious, shocking, and heartbreaking." As the final piece in a three-play exploration on gender, psychology, and society (preceded by Sam Shepard's True West in March 2017 and Pizza Man by Darlene Craviotto in March 2018), Plucker acts as the perfect final culmination for Company of Fools' highly successful second year.

The cast of Plucker features Calaine Schafer (a CoF alum!) as Alexis, Ben Kaufman as Louis, Madelyn Murphy as Lee, Marlena Holman as Thomasina, and Tyler Riley as Julian.

All shows take place at the Access Theater's Black Box (380 Broadway), September 4- 16, 2018. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm. General admission is $25, with additional ticketing options available. Elevator use is available for patrons with disabilities. (PLUCKER is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.)

Founded by Cameron Clarke and Collin Blackard, Company of Fools is an emerging theatre collective whose purpose is to innovate the bastion that is theatre by constantly challenging the limits of our own ability, study, and understanding. To this end, our mantra is thus: "Dare to fail gloriously." Our brand of theatre is one that does not shy away from the difficult road and is always willing to push the absolute edge of what we are capable of doing as artists. We do not limit ourselves to "tried and true," tested, or safe productions, and we know above all else that our desire to push past the fear of failure can lead to unheard-of success. We constantly strive for new works, new techniques, and new perspectives in our pursuit of artistic achievement.

Company of Fools is dedicated to providing powerful, thoughtful, fresh, and invigorating productions of classic, contemporary, and original texts. Furthermore, we are committed to empowering new voices, new artists, and new communities throughout our various artistic pursuits.
