Theatre critic and journalist Clive Barnes will be profiled and interviewed on the Friday, September 2nd episode of Theater Talk. The show will air 12:30 AM ET on WNET/Thirteen, and will be re-broadcast on September 5th at 5 AM ET (check local listings).

Theater Talk is hosted by producer Susan Haskins and Michael Riedel, who as a writer for The New York Post, is a colleague of Barnes.'  The British-born critic has been with that paper since 1977, and also spent a lengthy amount of time at The New York Times--first as its dance critic (after performing that job for The London Times), and then as its chief theatre critic from 1967 to 1977.   During those years, Barnes oftened championed the work of writers who dared to push the envelope, and was an unabashed admirer or the rock musicals that began to increasingly dot the Broadway landscape.
