Bitter Pill returns to the Players' Ring stage with Titus Andronicus Musicus, William Shakespeare's violent, bloody, grotesquely, ridiculous, abomination of a play with traditional and original music and lyrics by Billy Butler. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3 pm, tickets are $18 with discounts for students, seniors, and Players' Ring members. After a decade of war with the Goths, Titus Andronicus returns to a leaderless Rome with his prisoners, the Queen of the Goths and her sons. To appease the ghosts of war, he executes her eldest son and she vows revenge. Titus then refuses to accept the title of emperor and a terrible cycle of vengeance begins. Rome slips into depravity and decay, the mighty fall, and everyone dies.

Titus Andronicus covers the gamut of love, family, politics, and society in the most cruel, crude, and tragic Shakespearean way.

Billy Butler's Bitter Pill is a band of 21st vaudevillians comprised of musicians, singers, circusers, artists, actors, and awkwards. The primary focus is original live performances, but they also present classic and contemporary works re-imagined with their own twisted point of view. They mostly present theatre and music, but have been known to try just about anything.

Since 1992, the mission of The Players' Ring has been to promote the efforts of local artists through the production of original works, while providing an affordable theatre space to local production companies. "The Ring" provides an environment where artists can thrive, grow, take risks and make daring choices.
