Ben Vereen, Mandy Gonzalez, Donna McKechnie & More to Teach at Broadway Theatre Project's 2014 Session
Broadway Theatre Project (BTP) will feature a slate of prolific performers, directors, choreographers, composers, casting agents and other professionals from Broadway and Hollywood as part of the Project's roster of Teaching Faculty for its 2014 session, as announced today by the BTP's Artistic Directors Debra McWaters and Darren Gibson.
The disciplines of acting, singing and dancing will be taught by a diverse, world-class faculty of artists whom are scheduled to include:
Award-winning Broadway performers Brent Barrett, Mandy Gonzalez, Donna McKechnie, Emily Skinner and Lilias White; multiple-award-winning stage & screen legend Ben Vereen; acclaimed actor & director Austin Pendleton; noted composer & conductor David Friedman and director & choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge; award-winning Broadway casting directors Jay Binder, Tara Rubin and Duncan Stewart; award-winning choreographers Christopher D'Amboise, Jennifer Archibald, Jamal Sims and Jason Samuels Smith; international ballroom champions & choreographers Elena Grinenko, Yvonne Marceau and Victoria Regan; and American Idol's associate musical director and vocal coach, respectively, Michael Orland and Peisha McPhee.
BTP's 2014 faculty is rounded out with an additional 20 theatre, music and dance professionals whose profiles are featured on the Project's website, broadwaytheatreproject.com.
In 1991, Ann Reinking and Ms. McWaters, who worked together on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musicals Chicago and Fosse, were two of the primary people responsible for founding Broadway Theatre Project.
Ms. McWaters, a director, choreographer and author who is a highly regarded teacher of the choreography of Bob Fosse, serves as BTP's President & Artistic Director, and Mr. Gibson, an accomplished dancer, actor and choreographer, serves alongside Ms. McWaters as Artistic Director and heads its junior program, BTP II. Both also serve on the Project's Dance Faculty.
BTP's 2014 session will take place July 13th - August 3rd at the University of South Florida's School of Theatre & Dance in Tampa, Florida.
