In spite of their own financial needs, Bay Street Theatre is continuing to provide the local community with low cost entertainment options like The Picture Show and Kidstreet. The Picture Show at Bay Street, sponsored in part by Reilly Windows and Doors, continues with a MARX BROTHERS WEEKEND, Friday, September 25th with A DAY AT THE RACES and Saturday, September 26 with A NIGHT AT THE OPERA. These classic films are presented as they were meant to be seen-on the big screen, and will run most Friday and Saturday evenings throughout fall and winter. The doors open at 7:30 and films start at 8pm. Tickets are $5.

The American Hotel offers a $25 "Dinner and A Movie" prix fixe package, which includes a 3-course dinner and a ticket to the film. Dinner reservations should be made by calling the hotel directly at 631-725-3535.

Beginning Friday evening, October 2nd, Bay Street presents a Silent Film Weekend, featuring THE GENERAL at 8pm. Tickets for this show are $5.

Saturday has two very special silent film experiences in store. The first of Bay Street's KidStreet Performances sponsored in part by Suffolk County National Bank is set for Saturday, October 3rd at 3pm and will feature Silent film musician Ben Model who will accompany two short films for kids. He will use a mix of music and sound effects that are sure to thrill kids of all ages in their first silent film experience! The afternoon will include Buster Keaton and his new bride, as they build their own house in ONE WEEK (1920), and will be followed by a second short film, NUMBER, PLEASE? (1920) which finds Harold Lloyd running amuck in an amusement park. Tickets are $10 for both adults and children for this special afternoon event.

On Saturday evening, the silent film fun continues with Mr. Model accompanying the film, MARK OF ZORRO. Film starts at 8pm and all tickets are $15 for this special silent film evening.

In addition to this low cost entertainment, Bay Street is looking to the public for financial support, and has two special benefit events planned to help assist the theatre. Stars of stage and screen, Alan Alda and Joy Behar will perform in a ONE NIGHT ONLY SPECIAL EVENT, Columbus Day Weekend on Saturday, October 10th at 8pm. Tickets are $100, with a limited number of premium tickets available for $150, which includes a reception with the stars.
