A quartet of stars will appear at Symphony Space (Broadway at 95th St.) on Wednesday, September 27th for an evening of readings entitled "Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience."

Joan Allen, Stephen Lang, Matthew Modine and David Strathairn will perform readings from "an extraordinary new volume of deeply moving writing by US soldiers and their families about their experiences in Afghanistan and Iraq and on the homefront," according to Symphony Space notes.

"The anthology grew out of fifty National Endowment for the Arts-sponsored workshops, led by such prominent authors as Tobias Wolff, Tom Clancy, and Bobbie Ann Mason, where servicemen and women were encouraged to write freely and openly about their lives in wartime."  The evening will be the first presented as part of this season's "Selected Shorts: A Celebration of the Short Story" series.

Tickets range from $21 to $30.   Call 212-864-5400 or visit www.symphonyspace.org for more information.
