The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced the 2022-23 Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program recognition recipients.

A fan favorite, audiences in Door County have come to know Lachrisa Grandberry over her past five seasons with Northern Sky as a performer, playwright, and composer. Starting this year, Grandberry will add ‘program director’ to her list of roles as she will lead the organization’s newly-formed NOVA Initiative.

Peninsula Players Theatre has announced the cast for the final play reading of  The Play's the Thing, a winter play reading series presented to Door County audiences.  

Cyndy Stiehl will step down from the Northern Sky board April 1 after 26 years with the organization, including two as board chair. Stiehl will continue to be active in the organization via membership on various advisory committees.

The Plymouth Arts Center will present a commemorative art show featuring the artwork of the late Larry Basky. The show is entitled “Celebrating LARRY BASKY….A Lifetime of Paintings & Prints from Wisconsin to Maine and Beyond.” The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, March 10 from 5-7pm.

Producer Jeffery Seller and the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center have announced the single ticket on-sale date for HAMILTON. The tour will perform at the Center May 9-21, 2023 as part of the 2022-23 Kimberly-Clark Broadway Across America - Fox Cities series. Single tickets for the production go on sale to the general public on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.

Door Shakespeare has announced its 2023 summer season: William Shakespeare's As You Like It, and The Old Man and the Old Moon, with book, music, and lyrics by PigPen Theatre Company. Door Shakespeare’s 27th season runs June 28 through August 27, with shows Monday through Saturday: weekdays at 7:30 and Saturdays at 5:00.

Peninsula Players Theatre will award scholarships for its fifth year to Door County high school seniors pursuing a major or minor in arts management, music or theater. A $500 scholarship will be presented this spring to one student at each of the Door County high schools. Applications for the scholarship are available through the Door County Community Foundation and are due by April 3, 2023.

​​​​​​​Peninsula Players Theatre announces the 2023 season of The Play's the Thing, a winter play reading series presented to Door County audiences. Readings of the plays will be performed at Björklunden at 7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor, on Mondays, February 6, March 6 and April 3 at 7:00 p.m. There is no admission fee, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Donations are welcome. Masking is encouraged but not required. There will be no virtual option in 2023.

The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) announced this week the appointment of Scott Beightol, partner at Michael Best & Friedrich, as the new chair of the UPAF Board of Directors, succeeding Tim Mattke. Also announced was the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the Board are Jeff Cady of US Bank, David Caruso of Dynamic Events by David Caruso, Dustin Godsey of Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum, Melanie Maddux of ManpowerGroup and Tim Stewart of DeWitt, LLP.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center have announced President and CEO Maria Van Laanen has been recognized by BizTimes Milwaukee in its first edition of Wisconsin 275: The States Most Influential Business Leaders. Through this 124-page publication, 275 prominent business leaders throughout Wisconsin across various industries including health care, sports, technology, education and entertainment are recognized and highlighted. 

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater, has announced the appointment of Sarah Bonovich and Greg Wait to its Board of Directors. Bonovich and Wait's election to the Board of Directors is for a three-year term. 

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced the on sale date for one of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS.

It's full steam ahead as the STEAM Engine returns with its first live, in-person event in over a year as part of The Weidner Downtown Series on Saturday, December 10 at 7:00 PM in the historic Tarlton Theatre. Admission is pay what you may at the door. 

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced the on sale date for Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird, a new play by Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin, directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher and based on Harper Lee's classic novel. The first national tour of the critically acclaimed, record-breaking production starring Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas will perform at the Center February 21-26, 2023 as part of the 2022-23 Kimberly-Clark Broadway Across America - Fox Cities series.
