THE CRUCIBLE by Arthur Miller, directed by Georgia Athearn, is a 1953 play that dramatizes the story of the Salem witch trials that took place in Massachusetts. Miller wrote the play as an allegory for McCarthyism, when the U.S. Government persecuted people accused of being communists.
