Giselle at Popejoy Hall

Shanghai Ballet presents the classic romantic ballet Giselle, choreographed by Marius Petipa and adapted by Artistic Director Xin Lili. The ballet tells a tragic story of love, betrayal, and ghosts, as a peasant girl named Giselle dies of heartbreak and joins the vengeful spirits called the Wilis. The production features seven acclaimed principal dancers alongside the ensemble, marking the company's first North American appearance in over five years. The company is led by Artistic Director Xin Lili and Executive Director Ms. Ji Pingping.
