NuMu will make the final casting announcement on the heels of Buddy Holly's birthday-Sunday, September 7-when he would have turned 78. BroadwayWorld will have the announcement on our website.

BUDDY! THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY will be directed by Charles Roy, with music direction by Mark Camilleri, choreography by Gino Berti, set and prop design by Scott Penner, sound design by William Fallon, lighting design by Siobhán Sleath, and costume design by Joanna Yu.

"Buddy was the first rock 'n' roll bad boy; a pioneer who blazed a trail for every pop star who came after him. He embodied the speed, youth, fire and rebelliousness that every rock star has tried to emulate ever since," explains director Charles Roy. "We are searching for a performer with the charisma and talent to bring to life all that Buddy was: the original rock maverick who rose from nothing to change the face of popular music forever."

BUDDY! THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY tells the true story of Buddy Holly's meteoric rise to fame, from the moment in 1957 when That'll Be The Day hit the airwaves until his tragic death less than two years later on "the day the music died." The show features over 20 of Buddy Holly's greatest hits including That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, Everyday and Maybe Baby plus other hits of the era such as Ritchie Valens' La Bamba and The Big Bopper's Chantilly Lace.

Tickets for BUDDY! The Buddy Holly Story go on sale August 27th.
