Pierre van Heerden in BORDERLINE

Pierre van Heerden will appear in a seven-performance season of BORDERLINE at the Alexander Bar and Café's Upstairs Theatre, a 55-minute musical comedy written and directed by Vanessa Harris.

Being enlisted in any army is tough and larger-than-life plaas boy Van Heerden takes audiences through the highs, lows, horror and humour of being a South African army conscript in the seventies. for Pierre it was more.

Van Heerden graduated in 2001, receiving a diploma in Musical Theatre at The Waterfront Theatre School. Since then he has been involved with some of South Africa's biggest musicals including CATS, CHICAGO and THE LION KING. Other theatre credits GREASE, NOT THE MIDNIGHT MASS, ASPECTS OF LOVE and DIE VAN AARDES VAN GROOTOOR. Van Heerden was most recently seen in The Fugard Theatre's production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW as Eddie and Dr Scott.

BORDERLINE opens on 5 April, with a week-long season to follow from 11 - 16 April. All performances are at 21:00. Tickets cost R90 if booked and prepaid online at the Alexander Bar's website, or R100 if booked and/or paid for at the theatre itself. Tickets can also be purchased at the bar, which is situated at 76 Strand Street in Cape Town's city centre, anytime during its regular opening hours.
