PETER PAN Enters Final Week of Performances at Canal Walk in Cape Town

The annual Canal Walk Theatre is recognised as hosting some of the finest children's theatre productions in the country, and this year has be no exception. Until Sunday 14 July, kids and the young at heart will be captivated by J.M. Barrie's enduring classic PETER PAN. Swept away on the adventure of a lifetime, the audience will travel with the Darling children and Peter Pan to the magical and enchanted Never Land. Here they'll meet Tinker Bell, the mysterious mermaids from Mermaid Lagoon, the beautiful Princess Tiger Lily, the fun-loving Lost Boys and the evil Captain Hook and his band of pirates aboard the Jolly Roger.

This spectacular new family musical is directed by Fred Abrahamse and features the music and lyrics of Marcel Meyer. Abrahamse and Meyer are the award-winning duo who wowed Cape Town audiences earlier this year with their production of Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and recently made a mark for themselves in the USA with the very successful international debut of their acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams's KINGDOM OF EARTH.

The Centre Court at Canal Walk has been transformed into Never Land with breathtaking sets and together with magnificent costumes, eye-catching puppets and memorable songs J.M. Barrie's fantasy will come to life. The production will showcase the talent of some of South Africa's finest up-and-coming musical theatre stars including Naledi Award winner, Earl Gregory as Captain Hook and newcomer, Michael Wallace in the title role of Peter Pan.
