Irit Noble

Comedy diva Irit Noble will be at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre this June in an hour-long comedy show that she has co-written with Jean-Pierre and Murray-Kline.

Noble is is an award-winning comic and singer, renowned for her stylish one-woman shows and her work at Madame Zingara, on SABC3, on Cape Talk Radio - and her sex advice column in Cosmopolitan. Her incisive, risqué shows are a mix of stand-up comedy and song parodies, including hilarious versions of Dolly Parton's "9 to 5", Peggy Lee's "Fever", and Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble". Says Noble:

My comedy is just me laughing at life as a way of coping with the all the insanity, and (I am) immensely relieved when everyone laughs with me!

After many years off of the comedy circuit, Noble is back with her stir-crazy yet strangely sane perspectives on life, touching on office politics, the news, child-raising and, of course, love and sexy times. Her shows are casual, spontaneous and audience-interactive, but feel safe to sit in the front, she really doesn't bite - too hard.

Irit Noble, whose shows are rated PG16, will appear at the Alexander Bar on 3 and 5 June at 21:00, with tickets costing R80 - R90. Bookings can be made online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased at the bar. For telephone bookings and enquiries, call 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed onFacebook and Twitter.
