High School Semi-finalists for REVUE 2016 Announced

The six high school semi-finalists for REVUE 2016 were recently announced on the live television series of the same title that has been screening on KykNET NOU! since October. The semi-finalists are Dr EG Jansen High School, Hans Moore High School, HTS Drostdy, Jeugland High School, Kempton Park High School and Marais Viljoen High School. Four finalists will be selected from these schools to battle it out to win REVUE 2016.

REVUE 2016 is an exciting revue competition for primary and high schools which has been screened at 17:00 on Sundays on kykNET NOU! since October, with repeat screenings on Mondays at 14:00, Tuesdays at 19:00, Wednesdays at 19:00 and Thursdays at 10:00. A behind-the-scenes show called REVUE EKSRA also screens on the same channel on Mondays at 19:30, with its encore screenings on Tuesdays at 10:00, Thursdays at 19:00, Vrydays at 12:00 and Saturdays at 18:30.

Taking place in Carnival City's Big Top Arena, REVUE 2016 is presented by Sue Pyler, Hendri Myburgh, Mandi Baard and Danie Putter, with Lizz Meiring, Peter Smith and John Jacobs serving as the judges. The show is directed by Frans Swart, who is excited to be creating this platform for schools to reach a wider audience and to enjoy each other's work.

REVUE SA 2016 is presented in collaboration with Meat World, which is the main sponsor of the competition. The managing director of Meat World, which has twelve branches across the country, Angelino Perreira, says that their company is proud to involve itself in youth projects like REVUE 2016 and to invest in the youth of South Africa. The winning schools will receive meat to the value of R25 000 to use for their school feeding schemes. Other prizes include cabins for the Oppiwater Arts Festival, which travels by sea from Cape Town to Namibia next year.
