Mother City Sketch Show will present HELLO AND WELCOME at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre this August. Written and performed by Tamith Hattingh and Jessica Munna, with additional sketches by Pags Bantwana, the hour-long show features AV/Design by Al Postman.

HELLO AND WELCOME is a comedy sketch show exploring everyday topics with a gaggle of quirky characters and a pinch of absurdity salt. By definition, sketch comedy comprises a series of short comedy scenes or vignettes, called "sketches", usually between one and ten minutes long. Such sketches are performed by a group of comic actors or comedians, either on stage or through an audio and/or visual medium such as radio and television.

Hattingh is an actress, voice over artist, improvisor, comedy sketch writer, producer and performer, having trained at the Tshwane University of Technology. Munna is an American performer who came to Cape Town to study jazz music for one year at the University of Cape Town, but who has since found a home away from home in South Africa

HELLO AND WELCOME will run from 4 - 6 August. Tickets cost R80-R90 and can be booked online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased at the bar. For telephone bookings and enquiries, call 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
