A new play from UHM... playwright Callum Tilbury will debut at the Galloway Theatre this month. His first solo-written show, DOCTOR GODENSTEIN'S MAN is a comic exploration of the politics of sex and gender, and the label of "man".

A sneaky, ridiculous parody of godly proportions, DOCTOR GODENSTEIN'S MAN introduces Arceus Godenstein, an unhinged scientist bent on creating the biologically perfect man.

With the assistance of his assistant, a butler named Butler, Godenstein's plan is to immortalize himself as the best and greatest inventor ever in the history of the universe. But as his experiments fail, his frustration mounts - and Butler's loyalty is put to the test as he finds it harder to accept his master's authority, and harder to cover up his scandalous secret past.

Produced by Robin Ducret, DOCTOR GODENSTEIN'S MAN stars Wessel Pretorius (THE MAIDS, WIE'S BANG VIR VIRGINIA WOOLF?, ONT-) and Ameera Conrad (DON'T SHOOT THE HARBINGER, BLOOM). The play is directed by Byron Bure (THE REGULARS, DYING LIGHT).

DOCTOR GODENSTEIN'S MAN runs at the Galloway Theatre on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 - 20 February at 20:00. Tickets, costing R90-R120, can be booked through the theatre's online portal.
