Wareham are thrilled to present the second show of their 2014-2015 season, THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING by Joan Didion and directed by Jenny Sullivan (Steel Magnolias). 'To have Linda Purl on our stage with one of the more powerful pieces of theatre I have come across is just a triumph that our audiences and subscribers are going to treasure,' offers Wood. Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present a special episode of its free weekly comedy show The Last Hurrah, 'The Last Hurrah Celebrates Jim Henson', with special guest Brian Jay Jones on September 28. Mr. Jones is the president of the Biographers International Organization; most recently, he wrote the New York Times bestseller 'Jim Henson: The Biography'. He will be joined by host and Muppet fanatic Kevin Cole, as well as panelists Hannah Gutman and Andrew Michaels, to discuss the life of Jim Henson and the process of chronicling that life. Actors/singers David Burnham and Valerie Perri were critically acclaimed costars of Musical Theatre West's (MTW) Sunset Boulevard last season, but they have never sung together in cabaret until now. Together Again For the First Time premiered at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal on Sunday September 21, and with the opening number 'It's a Grand Night for Broadway' to the strains of 'Its a Grand Night for Singing', no finer words could appraise the evening. Accompanied on the piano and at various points in song by superior musical director Mark Vogel the trio knocked it out of the park. (more...)
