A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will be available through the month of October when The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, in partnership with Drew University, presents a "double-bill" experience for students and adults. From October 6th - 30th, a single copy of the original First Folio, one of the world's most valuable, rare and influential books will be on public display at Drew University's Mead Hall. The renowned Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington D.C. launched an historic tour of the book in early 2016 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. (more...)

BWW Review: DIRTY DANCING - A Lackluster, Disappointing Version of the Iconic Film

Spectacular dancing, heartfelt story, brilliant actors, classic songs.... The iconic film, DIRTY DANCING had all the makings to translate seamlessly onto the stage. However, unfortunately, it failed to deliver on all accounts. Written and conceived by Eleanor Bergstein, who has little to no previous stage experience, DIRTY DANCING is a lackluster and disappointing version of the far superior original. Perhaps it would've been best to leave Baby in the corner. (more...)

Chautauqua Theatre Company Wraps Up 33rd Season with TAMING OF THE SHREW

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC), under the co-leadership of Artistic Directors Andrew Borba and Vivienne Benesch, brings its 33rd season to a close with William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew directed by Andrew Borba and featuring the outstanding talents of its entire 2016 Conservatory company onstage and off to produce this comedy masterpiece. The Taming of the Shrew plays August 12 - 19 on the Bratton Theater stage at the Chautauqua Institution. Opening night is Saturday, August 13 at 6pm. Tickets are $35 and are currently on sale. Full Cast Announced for Touring Production of LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER

Sheffield Theatres and English Touring Theatre today announce full casting for Phillip Breen's adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's classic novel LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER, which opens at the Crucible on 26 September before a UK tour to Oxford, York, Malvern, Salisbury, Brighton and Cambridge. Breen directs a cast including Hedydd Dylan as Lady Chatterley and Jonah Russellas Mellors. The company is completed by Aretha Ayeh, Will Irvine, Ciaran McIntyre, Eugene O'Hare, David Osmond, Rachel Sanders and Alice Selwyn.
