Joe Di Pietro's 1998 Over the River and Through the Woods is a funny, touching, and often penetrating memoir about ageless conflicts between old and young and the inevitable changes that come in relationships with the changing times. Voting has opened for the 2016 BroadwayWorld Delaware Regional Awards, honoring productions which opened between October 2016 and September 2016. Nominations were reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors. Voting runs through December 31. (more...)

Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe DiPietro, opened Off-Broadway in 1998 and ran for over 800 performances during the original two year run. Audiences may be more familiar with DiPietro as the author of the long-running musical revue I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. It is easy to see why the show was a long running success. It is a script full of warmth, wit and familial truth that speaks directly to the generation gap experienced by Baby Boomers. (more...)

Cortland Repertory Theatre to Present SWEET, SINATRA...AND ALL THAT JAZZ

Cortland Repertory Theatre is turning their new downtown performing arts venue into a swank and swinging nightclub to celebrate Valentine's Day with Sweet, Sinatra…And All That Jazz, to be held on Saturday night, February 13th.  New York City crooner and CRT star Marcus Goldhaber and his jazz musicians, The In Time Band will provide an evening of live, smooth jazz music, and a dance floor will be available for those couples who would like to cut a rug.  Also include in the ticket price is an elegant dessert buffet, with delicacies created by local dessert artist Mary Turturro of "Mary's Cakes".  Complimentary non-alcoholic punch will be available, along with a cash bar with wine from Americana Vineyards and beer from Bacchus Brewing Inc.  Seating is reserved, and will be arranged cabaret style at small four-person tables.  Singles or couples, families or groups of friends are invited; all are welcome to sit and enjoy the sweets and music, or show their dancing skills on the dance floor.  Tickets are currently on sale and are $35.00 per person.
