Menier Chocolate Factory has announced further casting for its major revival of Tom Stoppard's TRAVESTIES. Joining Tom Hollander are: Clare Foster (Cecily), Freddie Fox (Tristan Tzara), Forbes Masson (Lenin), Peter McDonald (James Joyce), Amy Morgan (Gwendolen) and Sarah Quist (Nadya). Adirondack Theatre Festival's (ATF) 22nd summer season continues with its CABARET SERIES featuring the return of THE UNCIVIL WAR in a special concert performance. This special event will feature an updated script and score, with changes made based on reactions of ATF audiences from last summer's performance, complete with multiple new songs and scenes. Performances will be held at the Charles R. Wood Theater (207 Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls) on the mainstage at 7:30pm. Rehearsals for Fiasco Theater's INTO THE WOODS at Menier Chocolate Factory Now Underway

Following their success at the Tony Awards last night, where they won Best Musical Revival for The Color Purple and Cynthia Erivo won Best Actress in a Musical, the Menier Chocolate Factory announces that rehearsals start today in New York for innovative and ground breaking theatre company Fiasco's enchanting reinvention of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's masterpiece Into The Woods. Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston to Present THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, Casting Announced!

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston will bring the bright lights of 1920's New York City to the stage with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Thoroughly Modern Mille from July 7-17, 2016.  Millie will run for eight performances at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452).  Directed by Broadway veteran Cynthia Thole (Me and My Girl), Millie will star Gabrielle Carrubba (American Idol Season 11, Spring Awakening) as Millie Dillmount, a small-town girl who arrives in New York City to lead a thoroughly modern life. Millie will also feature Maryann Zschau (Nunsense National Tour) reprising her IRNE Award-winning role as Mrs. Meers (Reagle Music Theater 2006) and IRNE nominee Mark Linehan (Shrek The Musical, South Pacific) as Trevor Graydon.  This lavish musical is filled with fabulous flappers, eccentric New Yorkers and soaring musical numbers including "Forget About the Boy" and "Only In New York."   (more...)

Lipuma, announces a one-week extension to Company, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The production is directed by William Brown. Company features original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, Orchestral Reductions by Ian Weinberger, music direction by Tom Vendafreddo and choreography by Brock Clawson. 'This is like a real homecoming. The last time I worked at Maine State Music Theatre was in 1995, and it was also Fiddler on the Roof,' says nationally acclaimed director-choreographer Gary John LaRosa. La Rosa, who is widely considered one of the reigning authorities on the beloved 1964 Bock-Harnick bitter-sweet musical about Russian Jews confronting a changing world, has in his own words, 'literally done dozens' of Fiddler productions throughout his vibrant, busy career. 'I've actually stopped counting,' he says with a smile, though we note that among all these, he staged the 50th anniversary Fiddler gala on Broadway, as well as at least four of these won prestigious theatre awards and nominations. This month he finds himself in Brunswick, Maine, directing a thirty-six person cast in MSMT's third main stage show of the 2016 season. (more...)
