CARMEN's been a particular headache, with mezzo Sophie Koch out of action in the title role after rehearsals had started. Vista native Colleen Kollar Smith, who received her earliest theatre experience and training on the stage of the Moonlight Amphitheatre, has been named as Managing Director of the City of Vista's Moonlight Stage Productions effective February 8, 2017. Kollar Smith will oversee Moonlight's business and administrative functions and work in concert with Producing Artistic Director Steven Glaudini to shape the vision and future of the company and its seasons. Kollar Smith replaces longtime Managing Director Daniel Kays, who in November accepted a position in Northern California. (more...)

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Announces New Adult Classes For Winter and Spring

The classes run on selected Monday nights from January 23 to May 15 at 6:30-8:00 at CSC's current home theater at 719 Race St, and will be taught by members of the CSC's Resident Ensemble. Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with one of Neil Simon's funniest plays, Last of the Red Hot Lovers. Philadelphia audiences will be the first to see this production before it becomes the seventh national tour of a Walnut Street Theatre production. Directed by Adam Immerwahr, Last of the Red Hot Lovers begins previews in Philadelphia on January 10th, opens January 12th and continues through February 5th.
