From its stunning Broadway premiere in 1968, Hair defined the "rock musical," exuberantly celebrating the hippie counterculture, anti-war movement and sexual revolution of the 1960s with a rainbow score of hits - including "Aquarius," "Good Morning Starshine," and "Easy to be Hard" - that have become ingrained in pop culture. Let down your long, beautiful hair, pull out the tie-dye and celebrate this groundbreaking American journey as we "Let the Sunshine In!"

HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot, and tells the story of a group of young Americans searching for love and peace during the Vietnam era, HAIR is a timeless portrait of a movement that changed the world. Its groundbreaking rock score paved the way for some of the greatest musicals of our time. The 2009 revival, directed by Diane Paulus, won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle also honored the production with their 2009 award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical.

BWW Preview: THE ORIGINALS, The Ruin of Many a Poor Boy
by Jennifer McHugh - Sep 29, 2014

I first watched the backdoor pilot during Season Five of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. I wasn't too excited even though I do adore Klaus' lips and I'd move mountains if Elijah asked me to. (Swoon) However, at the urging of friends, I binge watched The Originals this summer and as it turns out? It's pretty fantastic. I don't know why I doubted it to begin with, the Mikaelson Family has never disappointed in entertainment. I mean it's pretty much the same basic story as TVD, two brothers, one pretty good, one pretty bad, both invested in the same woman yada yada yada, but here, there are a lot more witches, a lot more wolves and a lot more intrigue. This isn't Mystic Falls; this is New Orleans. (more...)

BWW Reviews: Amy Herzog's Sweet 4,000 MILES Resonates at Sierra Madre
by Don Grigware - Sep 29, 2014

Amy Herzog's Pulitzer-Prize nominated 4,000 Miles explores a most difficult relationship between a grandmother of 90 and her grandson some seventy years her junior. That gap in age is very wide like the distance of 4,000 miles from Seattle, Washington to New York City which Leo (Christian Prentice) covers by bicycle. Long journeys of any type involve struggles as well as rewards, and the play is a sweet optimistic look at how two very different people can change each other for the better. Now in its LA premiere 4,000 Miles is onstage at the Sierra Madre Playhouse in an endearing and richly detailed production directed lovingly by Christian Lebano and featuring a dynamite cast of four actors.
