Roundabout's VIOLET with Sutton Foster Gets Cast Recording; PS Classics to Release 2-Disc Set in June

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that PS Classics will record the cast album of VIOLET on April 7, 2014. This Original Broadway Cast Recording, a two-disc set, will be released on June 3. The multifaceted piece pins a savvy photojournalist against desires to start a family and leaves her questioning the true impact of her work. Marriage on Stage

Dinner with Friends offers an intimate view of two marriages and four friendships, examining the loyalties, fears, passions, and habits that keep couples and friends together. Marriage is a popular onstage subject, the backbone for many of the last century's most iconic plays. Domestic drama as we know it today may be traced back to Henrik Ibsen's 1879 play A Doll's House. The play, which follows an unequal and eventually unsustainable marriage, was a radical critique of 19th-century marriage norms and set the stage for the realistic plays (many of them domestic) of the 20th century. Below are a few examples of notable marriage-centric plays from the last hundred years. Whether funny or heartbreaking, they are inherently, undoubtedly dramatic. (more...)

Last night, (Wednesday, April 16) Academy Award-winner Adrien Brody stopped in for an intimate Dinner with Friends at Social House inside The Shops at Crystals. The highly-acclaimed actor, best known for his role in "The Pianist," arrived with his group just after 8:00 p.m. and took a seat in the main dining room. Brody and his party indulged in a number of specialty items such as the Citrus peel miso cod, Tempura lobster sushi roll and Social House's iconic Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi, which features a flavorsome combination of Calamansi soy sauce and garnish of cilantro.
