Moscow, 1938. A dangerous place to have a sense of humour; even more so a sense of freedom. Mikhail Bulgakov, living among dissidents, stalked by secret police, has both. And then he’s offered a poisoned chalice: a commission to write a play about Stalin to celebrate his sixtieth birthday.

Inspired by historical fact, Collaborators embarks on a surreal journey into the fevered imagination of the writer as he loses himself in a macabre and disturbingly funny relationship with the omnipotent subject of his drama.

John Hodge’s blistering new play depicts a lethal game of cat and mouse through which the appalling compromises and humiliations inflicted on any artist by those with power are held up to scrutiny.

Following its successful run in the Cottesloe Theatre, Collaborators is transferring to the Olivier Theatre on April 30 for a limited run.

San Francisco, CA, September 30, 2014 – Continuing its trailblazing tradition of presenting new and less familiar works of music theatre, Opera Parallèle will give the world premiere of an opera based on author Catherine Friend's beloved children's book, My Head is Full of Colors, Saturday, November 1, at 11 am in the Koret Auditorium of the San Francisco Main Library, 100 Larkin Street. Written by Santa Cruz composer Chris Pratorius with libretto by Opera Parallèle Artistic Director Nicole Paiement, the work is the first commission premiered by the Company and is being performed during National Opera Week (October 24—November 2). The production will feature 4th grade students from Creative Arts Charter Schoolperforming with soprano Carolyn Bacon and baritone Sergey Khalikulov. Repeated inspection delays due to inaccessible and incomplete sponsor TMFs prompted the MHRA to update its definition of a critical Good Clinical Practice (GCP) inspection finding to include TMF accessibility and availability. In 2013, 33% of commercial sponsor inspections required extra days due to an incomplete TMF or lack of accessibility. Latest Raytheon research on millennials finds rising interest in cybersecurity careers

DULLES, Va., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ A new survey commissioned by Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) in conjunction with the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA)reveals that interest in computer related and cyber careers among surveyed millennials this year was sharply higher than in a Raytheon study performed in 2013. This data comes as reports show demand for cybersecurity professionals is growing 3.5 times faster than the overall IT job market, and 12 times faster than the total labor market. Furthermore the survey found one in four young adults are interested in a career in cybersecurity, but 64 percent said their high school did not offer the exposure or classes needed to pursue a career in cybersecurity or computer science. David Benedict Will Write New Sondheim Biography- HOW DID IT HAPPEN

According to Variety, London theatre critic David Benedict will soon pen a new Stephen Sondheim biography for Random House, titled: "How Did It Happen: The Life and Career of Stephen Sondheim." The book will include interviews withe the man himself, as well as information gathered from his frequent Collaborators. Random House expects Benedict's first daft by December 2017. (more...)
