Paris Fringe Announces Full Schedule, Thru May 29

The first edition of Paris Fringe, a festival of international theatre in English, takes place from Monday, May 23 to Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Paris, France. The festival features both international work and France-based companies, and artists are travelling to Paris for the festival from Belgium, Canada, the UK and the USA. English is the main language for performances and other events. The programme includes dramatic plays, stand-up comedy, musicals, immersive theatre, improvisation and solo shows, representing a wide range of theatrical styles, with a focus on innovative approaches to theatre and an emphasis on contemporary themes. Pasadena Symphony and POPS Board Chair Kay Kochenderfer Toomey and Chief Executive Officer Lora Unger are proud to announce a contract extension for Michael Feinstein through the 2019 season. His original contract as Principal Pops Conductor commenced in June 2013 for a one-year term and was immediately extended in July 2013 to run through the 2016 season after his critically acclaimed conducting debut with the Pasadena POPS. More than 40 actors have been set to participate in The Blank Theatre's 24th Annual Young Playwrights Festival, including Angelique Cabral (Life In Pieces), Christoph Sanders (Ghost Whisperer, Last Man Standing), JR Bourne (Teen Wolf), Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue), Scott Lowell (Queer As Folk), Angel Parker (Lab Rats, American Crime Story), Lenny Jacobson (Nurse Jackie, Big Time in Hollywood, FL), and Jessy Schram (Nashville, Veronica Mars, Falling Skies). Twelve winning plays by young playwrights aged 16-19 from seven different states will be presented during this year's festival at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, running from June 2-26. LGBT Seniors to Perform 2016 New Stages Showcase at Renberg Theatre, 6/4-5

New Stages is an arts program for LGBT seniors, but it isn't your typical arts and crafts fare. Teaching artists Mark Salyer and Kay Cole have worked for the last four years to help LGBT elders tell their own stories and find their own voices. Declan Bennett to Showcase New Work at MADE IN LDN in June

Sunday June 12th marks the last of Interval Productions' current Made in LDN season, which launched at The Cockpit in March. The season has been designed to present new British Musical Theatre writing, curated and presented by Interval Productions' Creative Director, Tori Allen-Martin, and supported using public funding by Arts Council England. So far the Made In Ldn season has showcased work from twelve new writers and/or composers and now Declan Bennett joins the line up, performing in An Innocent Evening of Drinking, which is an exciting piece of new theatre that he co-created with Phil Griffin. We are lucky in New York City. The talent here is unbelievable. Sometimes you settle in for an intimate evening at a little local club and you get your socks blown off. On Friday the 13th (of May, to be exact), I had such an experience at the latest monthly installment of Stephen Hanks' Metropolitan Room series (Associate Producer, Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD), New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits. The featured performers were Vocalist Laurie Krauz and her Musical Director Daryl Kojak celebrating their 25-year musical collaboration “It's a 'Greatest Hits' show within a Greatest Hits series!” Hanks extolled before introducing his stars for the evening.
