Set firmly in, and often about, New York, Company follows five married, once married, or soon to be married couples and their mutual friend, Robert, a 35-year old bachelor who has been unable to connect in a long-term relationship. Bobby observes the less than ideal aspects of commitment. But, eventually, learns that while relationships aren't perfect, they are a necessary part of "Being Alive." Includes the songs "Getting Married Today," "The Ladies Who Lunch," and "Being Alive."



Opening on Broadway in 1970 and running 705 performances, garnering 14 Tony Award Nominations, and winning 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Lyrics. Revived on Broadway in 1995 running for 60 performances garnering 2 Tony Nominations. Revived again in 2006 running 246 performances garnering 3 Tony Nominations and winning for Best Revival of a Musical.

Ford Theater Announces Three Amazing Evenings of Entertainment

The Music Center On Location and the Ford Theatres today announced the line-up of a co-presentation featuring groundbreaking music and dance artists for three performances at the recently renovated Ford Theatres.  The program includes a dance performance of Awaa by acclaimed choreographer Aszure Barton on Friday, August 18, 2017; a double bill of contemporary dance by the innovative Jacob Jonas The Company and experimental electronic music from Tim Hecker with Kara-Lis Coverdale on Saturday, August 19, 2017; and a one-of-a-kind concert under the stars by singer, songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright on Sunday, August 20, 2017.  The three-night engagement at the outdoor amphitheatre is part of the IGNITE @ the FORD! At a celebratory opening ceremony for The Jim Henson Exhibition, housed in a new gallery at Museum of the Moving Image funded by The City of New York, the First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray, the Museum's Executive Director Carl Goodman, Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen, and City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer were joined by Jim Henson's daughter Cheryl Henson, and special appearances by Abby Cadabby, Red Fraggle, and Fozzie Bear, among other guests. The world premiere of The Pigeon King is the third show on Blyth Festival's playbill this summer and tells the tale of Arlan Galbraith, the self-proclaimed Pigeon King who was convicted of fraud in a Waterloo Court and sentenced to seven years for his preposterous Pigeon Ponzi scheme. The Pigeon King is a collaboration featuring original music all created by The Company. AOP (American Opera Projects) and Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood have selected six composers and three librettists to receive fellowships for its upcoming ninth season of Composers & the Voice. The 2017-2019 season will train, and present new works from, composers Matthew Browne, Scott Ordway, Frances Pollock, Pamela Stein Lynde, Liliya Ugay, and Amber Vistein and librettists Laura Barati, Kim Davies, and Sokunthary Svay. The primary focus of Composers & the Voice is to give emerging composers and librettists experience working collaboratively with singers on writing for the voice and contemporary opera stage.
