These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as, 'Vision of Love,”  “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Shout,” “The Joker,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Dancing In The Street.” The star-studded induction event is slated for Thursday, June 11th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Dreamy gazey indie space rockers Slowness present their video for 'Sand & Stone', the latest single from their 'Berths' album. The video was directed by Oliver Ousterhout and shot in Half Moon Bay, California. This follows the first two singles off this album: 'Berlin' and 'Rose'. This is a vinyl and digital release via Schoolkids Records.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

Today, Cage The Elephant releases a brand new song entitled 'Goodbye.' The song was played this morning on Zane Lowe's Beats1 show. The track follows up their recently released collaboration with Beck, 'Night Running,' the song 'House of Glass,' and their single 'Ready To Let Go.' 'Ready To Let Go' currently tops Billboard's Alternative radio chart. All four tracks appear on their forthcoming fifth studio album, Social Cues, out April 19th on RCA Records. Today, Cage The Elephant's newest single, 'Ready To Let Go,' has hit #1 at Alternative Radio in both the US and Canada. The single is from their forthcoming fifth studio album, Social Cues, out on April 19th on RCA Records. 'Ready To Let Go,' marks the band's 8th Alternative #1. The song immediately found its footing, scoring the band its best airplay chart debut in its near-decade career. Cage The Elephant has achieved more #1s at the format than any band this decade. The single is also headed into Top 15 at Active Rock and top 3 at AAA. 'Ready To Let Go,' along with album track, 'House of Glass' are now available as instant grats for those who pre-order the album HERE.

Cage The Elephant has shared a new track today, 'House of Glass.' The angular and anxious track teeters on a razor's edge -  with new wave guitar and nervous confessions, and is a highlight from their forthcoming fifth studio album, Social Cues. The track is released today with a companion video by Lexington-based artist, Robert Beatty.  Guitarist Brad Shultz spoke to Consequence of Sound about the 'Origins' of the song. After his hit production of King Charles III, David Muse returns to Shakespeare Theatre Company to direct Shakespeare's Richard the Third, a mesmerizing chronicle of the megalomaniac's rampage to the throne. The production will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from February 5-March 10, 2019.

Today's subject, Jonathan David Martin, came to Washington, DC after accepting a job as Associate Producer of Theater J, but he is currently living his theatre life back onstage in The Heiress at Arena Stage in the role of Morris Townsend This production, which marks his Arena Stage debut, begins performances on February 8th. It plays through March 10th in Arena's Fitchandler Stage space.
