Richard Bean's TOAST to Make US Debut at 59E59 Theaters

Marc Shaiman and his partner Lou Mirabal were married today, at the end of Lieutenant Commander Mirabal's retirement ceremony, honoring his more than 20 years of service to our country. The wedding was officiated by Tom Kirdahy (The Visit, Mother and Sons) in New Jersey. Wedding guests included Bette Midler, Whoopi Goldberg, Julia Murney, Nathan Lane, Mark Sendroff, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Darlene Love and many others. Pictures from both ceremonies were uploaded to Instagram earlier today, and you can check them out below! On May 14, Marcus Roberts & The Modern Jazz Generation close out the "Katrina -10 Years On" concert series, dedicated to the spirit of the people who suffered from one of the worst hurricanes in history. In this concert Roberts, famous for his dazzling, virtuosic playing that taps the full range of the jazz piano tradition, unveils The Modern Jazz Generation, an ensemble that features his trio mates - Jason Marsalis on drums and Rodney Jordan on bass - and a number of next generation jazz greats. Off-Broadway's acclaimed Classic Stage Company today announced plans for its 2016-17 season, led by incoming Artistic Director John Doyle and Managing Director Jeff Griffin. Doyle, a Tony Award winner for Sweeney Todd and the director of Broadway's highly-praised new production of The Color Purple, assumes the artistic leadership of CSC beginning in July, succeeding Brian Kulick, who has led the company since 2003. Acorn Productions' Naked Shakespeare to Present SEVEN DEADLY SINS

Naked Shakespeare, Acorn Productions' performance series dedicated to presenting the works of the Bard in accessible ways for contemporary audiences, continues their popular series of First Friday performances next month with two performances of 'Seven Deadly Sins,' a series of seven highly-abridged stories from seven different plays, each of which highlights a different vice. Naked Shakespeare Artistic Director abridged the scripts and directs the show, which features a cast of twelve actors, with several company members joined by a few guest artists. Unlike previous First Friday shows, 'Seven Deadly Sins' will be a series of self-contained short pieces, allowing audience members to experience both extremely well-known selections from Othello and The Tempest as well as lesser known plays including Timon of Athens and Coriolanus. Naked Shakespeare's First Friday shows begin a month of Shakespeare performances by various companies designed to coincidence with The Visit of a copy of the First Folio at the Portland Public Library. Frederick Fichman Releases VISIT THE ZOO

2016 National Festival of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Begins Next Week

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival.
