Movie musicals dona??t always translate well from stage to screen, mostly because it is difficult to recreate the magic of a live stage production on camera.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has written a new chapter of law regarding nonfiction works after a copyright win for the producers of Jersey Boys.

The Broadway musical is finally coming to Oslo and on September 16, 2020, it is ready for Norwegian premiere at Chateau Neuf! The true story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. It will star Atle Pettersen, Nicolay Ramm, Mathias Luppichini and Sindre Postholm. The production will be directed by Tore Sergei Myklebust and choreographed by Kirsty McDonald (Flashdance - The Musical). Hans Einar Apelland will serve as Musical Director and stage design and costumes by Takis.

The hit musical that critics have described as "Jersey Boys meets West Side Story," and "An entertaining, heartwarming, high-powered crowd-pleaser," (amNewYork), A Bronx Tale is headed to Kansas City as part of the 2019 AdventHealth Broadway Series. Featuring a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Oscar and Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater, and direction by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo, A Bronx Tale will play under the stars at Starlight Theatre July 30-August 4. 

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. After hosting the World Premiere in 2007, Village Theatre is ecstatic to mount an all-new production of Million Dollar Quartet complete with a rock star team of professionals from around the country. The blockbuster hit story of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins is set to run in Issaquah May 9 - June 23, 2019 before moving to Everett June 28 - July 28, 2019.

The Broadway Mega-hit will open in Norway 2020 at Chateau Neuf. The musical has played on and off Broadway since 2006 and is still going strong.No cast are announced yet. It will be directed by Tore Sergei Myklebust and Choreographed by Kirsty McDonald. Hans Einar Apelland will serve as Musical Director.

Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce that individual tickets for A BRONX TALE will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, January 9. A BRONX TALE will play Broadway In Chicago's Nederlander Theatre (24 W. Randolph) for a limited two-week engagement March 12 24, 2019.

Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena POPS close out their popular outdoor summer concert series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on Saturday, September 8 with Broadway Goes to the Movies. The POPS season finale will provide a quintessential Feinstein experience with some of Broadway's greatest performers recreating songs from hit shows that traveled from 42nd St. to Hollywood. "This program is going to celebrate all the different musical aspects of Broadway and Hollywood," says Feinstein, who has put together a program spanning the Broadway canon from My Fair Lady to The Sound of Music to Jersey Boys. New Jersey composer R. The hit Broadway musical A Bronx Tale will perform trackside at Belmont Stakes Day on Saturday, June 9 as part of the 2018 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival.
