Praxair Reports Third-Quarter 2013 Results

Sales in the third quarter were $3,013 million, 9% above the prior-year quarter. Organic sales increased 7% with growth across all geographic segments. On-site sales in North America and Asia had strong growth, driven by new project start-ups, including refinery hydrogen supply. South American organic sales reflect higher price and growth including the metals, manufacturing and healthcare end markets. Acquisitions in North America and Europe contributed 3% growth in the quarter. Sales were steady sequentially from the second quarter due primarily to higher volumes from new project start-ups offset by weaker currency translation. (more...)

September Home Sales Higher Than 2013

DENVER, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ For the first time in 2014, home sales reached a level higher than one year ago. Following an expected seasonal trend, September home sales were 10.4% lower than sales in August. However, sales pushed past the mark set in September 2013 by 0.9%. Sales throughout 2014 remained just below those in 2013, but finally in September sales inched above those one year ago. The Median Sales Price of all homes sold in the 52 metropolitan areas surveyed in September was $195,000, which was 5.4% higher than the median price last September. Prices in 2014 followed a rising trend, but at a slower rate than the double digit increases experienced in 2013. The inventory of homes for sale was 5.8% lower than last year. At the rate of home sales in September, the Months Supply of Inventory rose to 4.9 on a scale where 6.0 indicates a market balanced equally between buyers and sellers. (more...)

3-D Theatricals' final show of the 2012 season is the Tony Award-winning musical HAIRSPRAY, featuring choreography by Dana Solimando, musical direction by Allen Everman, and directed by 3-D Theatricals Executive Producer and Artistic Director T.J. Dawson. HAIRSPRAY opened on Saturday, October 13 and performed through Sunday, October 28 at the historic Plummer Auditorium, 201 E. Chapman Ave. in Fullerton. HAIRSPRAY then traveled across town to perform at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd., for three performances only, ending today, November 4.
