Go Dance 15, now in its 8th year returns to the Theatre Royal from Tuesday 26 until Saturday 30 May celebrating the best of community dance. Hosted by Scottish actor Alan McHugh, every evening offers a different programme of dynamic routines from Scotland's leading dance colleges, dance schools and community groups.

Go Dance 15 is a unique collaborative event that brings together more than 1200 dancers of all ages and showcases a variety of styles including contemporary, ballet, hip hop and tap.

Creative Learning Manager, Alison Cowan, said: "Go Dance is back and bursting with talent. It's great to see regulars return and welcome newcomers to the Go Dance family. This is a chance for people of all ages to share their passion for dance and celebrate their creativity."

Go Dance 15 is thrilled to welcome back to the Theatre Royal stage the local cast from Matthew Bourne's New Adventures' critically acclaimed Lord of The Flies with their brand new company, Overdrive. The young men and boys from across Central Scotland, stood out among hundreds of hopefuls to perform alongside the professional dancers in June last year. With continued support from Matthew Bourne's renowned dance company, ATG Glasgow's Creative Learning Team and Creative Scotland, the local cast have continued to build on their success recently performing for MSPs at a Holyrood Parliamentary Reception. Go Dance 15 now presents their debut performance as the Overdrive Dance Company with their contemporary piece 'Paint' exploring working life in a 1950s Glasgow paint factory, inspired by The Slab Boys by John Byrne and set to Chuck Berry's Roll Over Beethoven.

ATG Glasgow's Creative Learning team is a strong supporter of student work and has been impressed by the high quality of dance produced. This year six colleges from across Scotland are set to perform: Edinburgh based Dance For All bring a touch of the 1940s with their 'Memphis Swing'; Dance Studio Scotland @ Glasgow Clyde College use a variety of styles including tap and Highland dance in their upbeat routine 'Re-mix'; Flyzone from Dundee and Angus College perform a contemporary ballet piece 'Unknown Serenity'; Glasgow Kelvin College present 'Redemption' a dark atmospheric contemporary routine; JazzArt UK College of Performing Arts showcase a high-energy piece with an Asian flavour dedicated to their dance teacher who has recently returned to her native Japan and West College Scotland give us a 'Reason' to love dance with their up-beat commercial and hip hop choreography.

Go Dance 15 is an excellent platform for emerging choreographers. Jennifer Scott, from Paisley, tackles the themes of corruption, bribery and deceit in society in her contemporary dance piece 'Venality' featuring music from the Chemical Brothers.

Tearing up the stage with their hip hop swagger is Renfrew based Jump Dance Crew featuring performers from Soul Physiix and Lil Soul Physiix. Their high-energy piece 'Get the Physiix, Feel the Soul' showcases their urban styles of house, krumping, breaking and locking.

All the way from Skye, Lorayne McLucas Performing Arts jazz it up with their 'Uptown Party'. A vibrant routine which includes a mix of jazz, funk, 1920's and ballroom styles that is sure to make you want to boogie!
