Christmas came early for Childrens' Theatre company TaleGate Theatre who are performing "Father Christmas Needs A Wee! The Musical at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The show is based on the much loved book "Father Christmas Needs A Wee! by successful childrens' author Nicholas Allan.

They were thrilled when the author himself dropped in to see their musical adaptation of his book.

Of the stage production "Father Christmas Needs A Wee! The Musical", Allan said: "From my simple story TaleGate Theatre have come up with a very tuneful and riotously performed piece. There are many funny moments and dramatic turns, with animated mince pies, unhelpful guard dogs, not to mention a startling soundtrack, it all moves along as swiftly as Santa's sleigh. Jingle bells all the way, I'd say."

"Father Christmas Needs A Wee!" has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. His other books for children include "The Queen's Knickers" and "The Magic Lavatory".
