According to the New York Times "The Acting Company endures as the major touring classical theater in the United States." This will be the first production of Hamlet in The Acting Company's 41-year history.

Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet exacts for his father's murder, setting him on a journey seeking his personal mortality. It vividly portrays overwhelming grief and rage while exploring themes of danger, revenge and moral corruption.

Hamlet is among Shakespeare's most powerful and influential tragedies in English literature, one of Shakespeare's most popular works during his lifetime and still ranking among his most performed. Exact dates are unknown, but scholars agree that Shakespeare published Hamlet between 1601 and 1603. Many believe that Hamlet is the best of Shakespeare's work, and the perfect play, certainly one of his most well-known and oft-quoted plays.
