Sierra Stages and Wolf Gait Studio will offer a unique workshop led by local actor Robert Rossman this Saturday (March 8) from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Sierra Stages Rehearsal Studio in Nevada City. "THE ACTOR MOVES: An Introduction to Movement and Physicality for the Theatre" introduces actors, artists, and theatre lovers to a basic foundation of movement and physicality for the theatre. The goal and focus of the workshop is to build the confidence that your body knows what to do - thus ending the age-old question, "What do I do with my hands?"

Rossman will draw from a wide background of training in fine arts, mime, modern dance, acting, directing, 3D animation, street theatre, mask, clown, Commedia del Arte and more; all in 2.5 hours. Participants should be prepared to move, as this is an active class. You must be able to pick a bean bag up off the floor (minimum requirement). For anyone who would rather watch and learn, there will be a cheap seat area for observers.

The Sierra Stages production of the landmark musical comedy COMPANY is now playing through March 23 at the Nevada Theatre. In addition, on Tuesday March 11 and Saturday March 15, Sierra Stages will hold open auditions for its summer production of PETER PAN, and on Wednesday March 12 at 7:30 p.m., Sierra Stages and the Miners Foundry Cultural Center present an informal play reading of Gary Wright's EVERMORE as part of the "Theater by the Book" series.
