ON STAGE FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a winter camp Tues.-Thurs., Jan. 3-5 & Dec. 27-29th, 9:00 to 3:00 for children ages 5-12.

The children will learn the basics of theatre arts by developing short sketches, learning performance skills, creating costumes and sets. These skits will be performed at the end of camp for family and friends. The theme of the camp is New Year Celebrations Around the World and we will investigate the cultural traditions of the participants' heritage.

Theatre Arts builds confidence, stimulates imagination, improves speaking skills, builds teamwork skills and helps memorization.

Cynthia Speakman, the teacher, has recently been chosen to teach theatre arts for the Any Given Child Program. She taught through the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission Model Arts program for 2 years in the Robla School District. For over 10 years she has been teaching with the On Stage After School Theatre Arts Program at Leonardo da Vinci K-8. Ellen Chapman - parent & teacher - says: "Cynthia has endless patience with young children and makes sure that kids feel positive about their contributions."

The cost of the camp is $129/child and there is a 10% sibling discount. The camp is held at 1719 25th Street in the California Stage Complex at 25th & R St. To register call: 916-502-0336 or e-mail cynthia.speakman@gmail.com or on Facebook.
