Capital Stage presents the return of Capital Stage favorite Katie Rubin in her one-woman show, Why I Died, A Comedy! Rubin has entertained Capital Stage audiences with her hilarious performances in Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play, The North Plan, In the Next Room, and Hunter Gatherers, as well as with her other solo shows My Spiritual Death, Amazing & Sage and Insides Out! She now returns to Capital Stage to take audiences on an emotionally charged and hilarious journey towards self-integration and peace of mind.

The performance of Why I Died, A Comedy! will be Saturday, August 8 at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $20 for Capital Stage subscribers and $25 for the general public, and can be purchased at the Capital Stage Box Office: 916-995-5464, capstage.org, 2215 J Street.

If it's true that our attachment to worldly concerns and ambitions is the cause of our suffering, then dissolving those ambitions should bring complete and perfect peace to our hearts, right? Katie Rubin began her career as a Solo Show Performer at Amherst College with her first original piece,PartyBoobyTrap. Her second play, Avoiding Less Blue, was produced through the 2000 New York Fringe Festival. Additionally she was commissioned by the UC Davis Department of Health to write two original plays. Some of Ms. Rubin's acting credits include Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play, The North Plan, In The Next Room, and Hunter Gatherers at Capital Stage; as well as Rabbit Hole and Wit at B Street Theater; A Christmas Carol, and To Kill A Mockingbird at Sacramento Theatre Company; and Urinetown The Foothill Theater Company. Katie earned her MFA in Acting from UC Davis, and her BA in Theater and Dance at Amherst College.
