Harris Center Presents SIRO-A, The Digital Technodelic Experiment, 3/4-5

The "next generation of entertainment" from Japan is set to arrive at Harris Center for the Arts as SIRO-A, a six-member strong performance group from Sendai, Japan make their North America debut on the West Coast. Set against a heavy, pulsing techno beat, their show features intricately choreographed projections, LED suits, lights and lasers. A recent London review states "The best way to describe it is like watching a 'live' hi-tech pop video - on steroids."

SIRO-A: The Digital Technodelic Experiment will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 7:30 pm and Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are priced at $25-$45; Premium $55; Students with ID $12. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

SIRO, (white or colorless in Japanese) means "belong to no group, impossible to define as anybody." SIRO-A is a revolution in live entertainment, fusing mime, groundbreaking visual effects, and a techno soundtrack to create a whole new entertainment, a "Technodelic & Visual Show." This project received support from California Presenters;WESTAF, the Western States Arts Federation; and the National Endowment for the Arts. Formed in 2002 in Sendai, SIRO-A is fast becoming a worldwide phenomenon.

They made their first public appearances at festivals in Japan in 2005, followed shortly by Japanese TV features. SIRO-A's biggest live show to date debuted to 30,000 spectators at the Shanghai Expo 2010, where the question came up: "Is that the Japanese answer to Blue Man Group?" In August 2011, SIRO-A were invited to take the stage at Edinburgh's renowned Fringe Festival and won the prestigious "Spirit of the Fringe" Award. International media exposure quickly followed.

Their international success was followed by their first European tour in Germany, Denmark, Austria, and France in 2012. In 2013, they succeeded in their 1st long run, three months, at Leicester Square Theatre in London where they received a 5-star rating from UK's Daily Star newspaper.

SIRO-A is new and varied, innovative and pretty crazy, energetic, cool, and extremely entertaining. The beat of their electronic music hits a visceral nerve. Their visual effects, grand illusions and perfectly choreographed routines are masterfully woven together to create an utterly new live experience.
