Award winning EMH Productions continues its fifth year of presenting dynamic, intimate theatre on the Sacramento stage with the world premiere of These Lonesome Roads by Dan Fagan, directed by Elise M. Hodge. This compelling new work by local actor Dan Fagan (Hounds of the Baskervilles at STC, Of Kites and Kings at STC, Clybourne Park at Capital Stage) is his second foray into the world of playwrighting.

His first was the successful and much loved Tiger Without Mercy, a one man show centering on the life and times of boxer Jack Dempsey which hit the Sacramento stage in 2013 and was directed by well known Anthony D'Juan. Audiences loved the richly detailed story of Dempsey, played by Fagan, along with some 30 other characters who passed through Dempsey's life. Dan has now tackled the life of a fictitious character, Brint, but one who is a a glimpse into the real life struggles of those men we know as Roughnecks working in the dangerous oil fields of Wyoming.

These Lonesome Roads will run from September 16 through October 1st 2016 at The OoleyTheatre, 2007 28th St, Sacramento, CA 95816.

EMH Productions has long wished to bring to the stage original works by local artists. Elise Hodge, the creative director and owner of EMH, began this journey with her own play After Hours in 2013, which was Elly Nominated for both best original script and best original script production. These Lonesome Roads is EMH Production's fourth presentation of an original work by a local Sacramento writer, and its first as the lead dramaturge, as well as production and direction of the show. EMH directed Brian Diamond's Sacramento premiere of his one man show It's Not Personal in January of 2014. In June of 2015, EMH directed and acted as dramaturge for Scott Charle's Dinners with Augie, produced by Laura Lundy-Paine of Blue Panther Productions.

The production features a return to the stage by local favorites Jesse Janzen and Petra Van De Hey. Both actors have spent much of their time in recent years cultivating their film careers, but have longed to return to the stage. We also feature Mallory Monachino, currently in the well received The Last Lifeboat out at Main Stage Theatre Works and last seen in EMH's Look Back in Anger in January of this year. Rounding out the cast is veteran Lonon Smith, a local writer, director and actor in his own right who is currently gearing up to direct Theatre One's presentation of Middletown by Wil Eno. This will be Lonon's third time as an actor performing with EMH Productions, previously seen in EMH's award winning presentation of Moving Mountains by Lawrence Roman (2013) and My Fellow Creatures by Michael Rubenfeld (2012).

Performances for These Lonesome Roads will begin on Friday, September 16th at 8pm and continue through Saturday, October 1st 2016. Showtimes will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. There will be one matinee performance on Sunday, September 25th at 2pm and one special industry night on Monday, September 26th at 7:30pm. Performances are at The Ooley Theatre, 2007 28th St, Sacramento, CA 95816

General ticket prices are $15. Tickets can be reserved for $15 at www.emhpros.weebly.com, or purchased at the door (cash only).
