Review: CRY IT OUT Delivers the Laughs at Capital Stage
Sacramento: May 10, 2024 Just in time for Mother’s Day, Capital Stage has revealed a play that is perfect for celebrating mothers. It also happens to be my favorite of their offerings to date. Cry it Out, by Molly Smith Metzler, tackles an important conversation that often gets overlooked, and does it with insight, grace, and a whole lot of humor.

Review: THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST at The Lantern Theatre/Maumelle Players
Arkansas: May 10, 2024 I love going to see a Trent Reese production, because he always puts a refreshing spin on whatever the subject matter may be. For our viewing pleasure this time, The Lantern Theatre and the Maumelle Players teamed up to present THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde the last two weekends in April at The Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Maumelle.
Review: Broadway Kids Take the Stage at Chelsea Table + Stage
Cabaret: May 10, 2024 Wondering what the kids are up to? The Broadway Kids are singing at a nightclub and training for their professional careers. BKA (Broadway Kids Auditions) hosted a talent showcase of young aspiring performers. The young folks raising their voices in song seemed at home on a stage, delivering their material with gusto and grace

Review: FIRST STATE BALLET THEATRE AT THE GRAND OPERA HOUSE at The Grand Opera House
Delaware: May 10, 2024 It is not surprising to those who work in the live arts, performing arts or fine arts, that we understand a vibrant arts community attracts visitors who spend money and help keep local businesses thriving. They keep Delaware residents spending their money locally, vital income for local merchants.
Review: CHICAGO at Århus Teater

Review: CABARET at Blackfriars Theatre
Central New York: May 10, 2024 One of theatre’s many powers is its ability to reflect the happenings of the outside world, illuminating events and societal trends, and even portending things to come. When “Cabaret” was written in 1966 we were only one generation removed from the biggest global conflict in world history, in which America and much of Europe battled down the forces of fascism and tyranny. The show explores the period leading to this tumultuous era, and now in 2024 as American democracy once again feels fragile and antisemitism is on the rise around the world, “Cabaret” is, unfortunately, quite topical.
Review: TWELFTH NIGHT, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre
UK / West End: May 10, 2024 “More matter for a May morning.” Given that the majority of Shakespeare’s plays began with outdoor performances of one kind or another, it’s a perfect fit for the leafy surroundings of Regent’s Park – which has made it all the more conspicuous for its absence from the programming over the past few seasons. Owen Horsley steers the ship as this well-loved comedy docks in north London for the next few weeks.

Review: GILLIAN COSGRIFF: ACTUALLY, GOOD, Soho Theatre
UK / West End: May 10, 2024 Gillian Cosgriff: Actually, Good begins with Cosgriff performing using a looper pedal, with backwards vocals and some chords from the onstage keyboard. She gives us context for several things in order to understand the show, including that the Whitsundays are islands and Australians like to make touristy things that are “big” like the “Big Prawn.”
