Pending the winter kickoff of a national tour, Chicago has been canceled for Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company 2015-2016 season. THE DROWSY CHAPERONE will run in its place March 18-27, 2016 in the Rockwell Theatre at Pittsburgh Playhouse.

Patrons with tickets to Chicago will be automatically reissued tickets to THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. Those wishing for a refund should contact the Pittsburgh Playhouse box office at 412-392-8000. Tickets are $12-24 and on sale now by phone or walk up sales only. More information will be available at www.pittsburghplayhouse.com soon.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is a send-up of musical theatre tropes, narrated by one of its biggest, and most sarcastic, fans. When the 'Man in Chair' settles down to relax with his favorite record, a cast recording of a forgotten flapper-era musical, it unfolds on stage in a larger-than-life production. The madcap love story plays out live with hilarious characters and zany situations.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE has music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. The book was written by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. It originally appeared on Broadway in 2006, winning five TONY Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score.
