Strand Theater Announces Full Cast for MURPHY'S LAW

The Strand Theater in Zelionople, Pennsylvania has announced the complete cast for their upcoming production of the musical comedy Murphy's Law running May 13 - 15, 2016.

Steven Geyer will star in the production as everyman Dave Spring. Geyer appeared on Broadway in Grease, and his national and European touring credits include A Christmas Carol, My Fair Lady, and Little Women. Pittsburgh audiences have enjoyed him in performances at Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Public, and PCLO. Other recent credits include They're Playin' Our Song, Whistle Down the Wind, Anything Goes, La Cage Aux Folles, and multiple productions as Tony in West Side Story and the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Murphy's Law marks Geyer's Strand Theater debut.

Pittsburg favorite Jeremy Czarniak helms the prouction as director and choreographer, and also takes on multiples roles onstage as Man One. As an actor Czarniak appeared off-Broadway in Zombies from the Beyond and Identical Twins from Baltimore. He appeared in the international tour of On The Town and locally at Pittsburgh Public, PCLO, as well as at the MUNY in St. Louis. As a director Czarniak has staged several productions for The Theatre Factory and choreographed and performed with Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Pops.

Rounding out the six-person cast are actors more than familiar to Pittsburgh audiences. Larissa Overholt Petrucci appears as Diane Gustavson, an unassuming Iowa housewife with dreams of Broadway stardom. Billy Mason plays Sam, a plain-speaking auto mechanic with a silver tongue and a roving eye. Kate Toole takes on Kira, the lovelorn Cincinnati native who is down on her luck but packs a mean left hook. Completing the cast is Valerie Gasior who takes on multiple roles as Woman One.

Director and choreographer Jeremy Czaniak is joined by musical director Francesca Tortarello. The Strand Theater's production will feature musical arrangements by Michael Meketa, III.

Murphy's Law features book, music, and lyrics co-written by writing team Andy Nagraj and Jonathan Spivey. The musical is their first collaboration. Nagraj and Spivey are currently developing a two-man musical adaptation of Don Juan inspired by the road films of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
