Axis Company's 2014-15 Season to Feature World Premieres from Randy Sharp, Marc Palmieri & More

Axis Company has announced its 2014-15 season, which will feature a number of world premieres, as well as the return of its beloved family holiday show Seven In One Blow, or The Brave Little Kid. The season begins with the world premiere of Axis Company Artist Director Randy Sharp's new musical Triangle Fire, part of the second annual Theater:Village festival, which is co-presented by Cherry Lane Theatre, New Ohio Theatre and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Entitled E Pluribus, the festival will feature four new plays celebrating the diversity of America, running from September 3-October 5. (more...)

East Lynne Theater Company Presents Student Workshop of THE DANCING PRINCESSES, 7/1

East Lynne Theater Company's much anticipated Student Workshop Production is back! After 24 hours of rehearsal covering nine days, twelve students, ages 10-14, will perform 'The Dancing Princesses" based on the tale by The Brothers Grimm at The First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, 500 Hughes St., where the company is in residence. The date is Tuesday, July 1, at 8:00 p.m. This marks ELTC's 8th Summer Student Workshop Production, and the past seven years it's been standing room only. Admission is free and families are welcome. Violinist Nicola Benedetti will make her New York Philharmonic subscription debut - replacing Janine Jansen, who has been advised by her doctor not to play for at least a week - in performances of Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1. Vladimir Jurowski will make his Philharmonic debut conducting the concerts, tonight, May 21, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 24 at 8:00 p.m. The program will conclude with selections from Prokofiev's Cinderella. Michael Pink's World Premiere Mirror, Mirror conjures a spell that leaves the audience speechless except for the applause of a standing ovation in Uhlien Hall at Milwaukee's Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. In collaboration with the Milwaukee Ballet Company, Andrews Sill and the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, Composer Philip Fenney, Lighting Designer David Grill and Costume and Scenic Designer Todd Edward Ivins, Pink's masterpiece production on the Thursday night opening of the fairy tale Snow White presented a majestic full-length theatrical ballet for Milwaukee audiences.
