Dominic West has said that audience subscriptions mean that theatregoers on Broadway do not 'necessarily want to be there.'

Peter Morgan's new play, Patriots, which ran in London's West End last year, has been eyeing a transfer to eyeing Broadway and it might be another step closer. An Equity casting notice calling for understudies notes that the play will open on Broadway in 2024.

What a year! I pulled out my notebook over a hundred times and came away, more often not, with a happy heart. Below is a condensed list of the very best - and worst - that I saw.

Netflix released the video trailer for Season 6 Part 2 of The Crown, previewing what will be the conclusion of Peter Morgan’s epic, award-winning drama. These final 6 episodes, which premiere on Netflix on December 14th, will draw to a close the genre-defining prestige royal saga that has been on screens since 2016.

Now being performed at the Kauffman Center and concluding this weekend is a wonderful rendition by the Lyric Opera of Kansas City of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s final composition together, “The Sound of Music”  This production is as good as it gets. Framed by massive settings by Peter J. Davison and glorious costumes by Alex Valasek, “Sound of Music” is the incredible, mostly true tale of the Von Trapp family singers and their escape from the Nazis taken from the Matriarch Maria Von Trapp’s 1949 memoir.
