Anna Camp, Oliver Hollmann, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Robert Sella, Jeanine Serralles, Danny Wolohan, and Damian Young will be featured in the LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater world premiere production of VERITE, a new play by Nick Jones, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel. VERITE begins performances Saturday, January 31, opens Wednesday, February 18, and will run for six weeks only through Sunday, March 15 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). (more...)

Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater and creators of GOODBAR and #9, continues its annual series of developmental workshop productions by commissioning a new play from Qui Nguyen (The Inexplicable Redemption of Agent G, She Kills Monsters) for its senior Drama Class of 2015 at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS). To be directed by longtime collaborator, Robert Ross Parker (Goodbye Cruel World, co-artistic director of Vampire Cowboys), the piece will premiere at PPAS in April 2015. (more...)

Animals creep me out. There, I said it. People often ask why I'm not more of an animal person. No longer will I have to search for the words to express my deep, unsettling feelings towards even the most cuddly of housepets. Perhaps the root cause for my emotional trauma is never being able to fully understand what is going through an animal's mind. So, imagine my reaction to a play that dives deep into an animal's inner monologue to try and make us understand the perils of deciding to house a wild animal. Now before we go any further, I must advise I am not talking about a passive Golden Retriever or snotty Siamese Cat, but an out-of-control, 14 year-old, 200 lb chimpanzee. Based on the true story of Sandra Jerome, who passed away in 2010 from an aortic aneurysm, TREVOR explores that age old question, 'What if animals could talk?' (more...)

Lincoln Center Theater has announced two new upcoming productions: SHOWS FOR DAYS, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane, to be directed by Jerry Zaks; and the LCT3 production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, to be directed by Rachel Chavkin. SHOWS FOR DAYS, marks the return of both playwright Douglas Carter Beane (The Nance) and director Jerry Zaks (The House of Blue Leaves, Anything Goes, Six Degrees of Separation) to Lincoln Center Theater, will begin previews Thursday, June 4 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. PRELUDES, the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, will run from Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, July 19. Opening night is Monday, June 15. (more...)
