Kristen Bell (Film and Television star; voice of Anna in Disney’s Frozen), Caissie Levy (original Elsa in Frozen on Broadway) and Betsy Wolfe (originated leading role in world premiere of the Lopezes’ musical Up Here) will join The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, for its 39th Birthday Gala.

 The New York Pops today announced an initial line-up of guest artists for its 39th Birthday Gala, For the First Time In Forever: The Songs of Kristen and Bobby Lopez, honoring the Academy and Grammy Award winning songwriting duo Kristen and Bobby Lopez on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.

New York City Center today announced additional casting for the 2022 Encores! Season as part of the full calendar of events for City Center’s 2021 – 2022 Season. The productions launch Lear deBessonet’s first season as Encores! Artistic Director, alongside Encores! Music Director Rob Berman and Encores! Producing Creative Director Clint Ramos.

Mykal Kilgore is a force to be reckoned with. In only a few short years he has appeared in a brace of Broadway musicals, including, Hair, Motown: the Musical, The Wiz Live!, Dear Evan Hansen, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, Songs for a New World, and Into the Woods. His first album, A Man Born Black was a big hit for Affective Music. His single from the album  “Let Me Go” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance in 2021. He is the first openly gay artist to be nominated in the category.

Trailblazer & Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and activist Mykal Kilgore sang to a  fully masked crowd of fashionistas and fans at the Met Gala last night, dressed for the event in custom couture by Dapper Dan, the Harlem couturier and American fashion designer who combines elegance and swagger. 

The song is a story told from a Black Gay man’s perspective about his and many other’s experiences at the barbershop where people gather and gossip about their community and the world. The new single comes along with a new music video.

This week, WINMI's third annual Audition Stories has come to the podcast. The previous audition episodes were released just a month before the COVID-19 shut down. And there have been a lot of guests with a lot of great stories since then.

New York City Center today announced the first set of casting for the 2022 Encores! season and the Spring Gala | Encores! Into the Woods on the opening night of the production, May 4. The next chapter of the Tony-honored series opens February 2 – 6, 2022 with the 1983 Tony-nominated musical The Tap Dance Kid.
